Firstly...
Please send a short synopsis of what you would like us to put in the magazine, and if you are a local group (within our distribution area) please also send a calendar of any events you may be holding in the future to: editor@southdownsliving.com
If you are a business, profit making or not, then you will be required to pay for your article as advertorial. Rates as per our rate card. These are popular as they work well.
What we are looking for in editorial submissions...
Our aim is to cover local groups and individuals in depth and with pictures. We would like everything we print to help maintain and grow community spirit and village life. We choose articles that will be interesting to our local readership and have some unique "angle" or personal feel, which is why we ask you send in a synopsis before you commit to writing the whole piece. Having discussed your topic with you we might suggest a certain perspective and advise on the number of words. We do not want to publish anything that has been or will be published elsewhere.
Size: a full page with pictures is around 500 words. Half a page – around 300 words. We would like a title, and an introduction to your article of about 20 words that reflects the essence of the text to follow. Please supply this with every piece in case it is needed.
Deadline: our deadlines are the 7th of each month preceding the issue month.
(i.e. 7th January for February issue).
Every article in our magazine is read, editorial or advertorial. Our magazine is read more than other magazines or newspapers because of its unique editorial concept. We get more material every month than we can publish. Hopefully, the above guidelines will help you avoid the
disappointment of not having your article printed. Thank you all for your contributions! |
